Coronavirus (COVID-19):

The spread of COVID-19 has really changed our lives for the better and the worse. In Canada there are about 72,448 cases of corona and 5,303 deaths (since I posted this blog). The rate of deaths is actually crazy. If you put that into perspective about 1 out of every 14 people die after catching COVID. People who are most vulnerable are seniors and minors. This doesn't mean that people who are teens can not get the virus. Actually a new study shows that the virus is now targeting anyone under 21. Coronavirus is extremely contagious. People can not only catch the virus, but they can pass it onto their parents or grandparents who can potentially pass away from it. I have been watching a lot of news and documentaries lately. Recently I found out that there are speculations that the virus was made by an American scientist. The virus was shipped to China for testing. After testing it on bats, someone took those bats to the black market in China and sold them to people. I also found out that the Chinese government put the first person who got tested positive for the virus in jail, knowing that it would cause a global pandemic and only China left to blame. Although it was a good attempt, it was too late. People were catching flights and going to other countries not knowing they were a carrier of this virus. Honestly the strangest part of this is all the conspiracy theories around it. The most recent one that I heard was weird. She thought that people would get sick, just with a cold or flu, and they would fear it's COVID, so they would go to the hospital to get tested. She believed that the docters would put the virus on the actual tests and purposefully gave it to the person when they were getting tested. She felt like this was the Governments plan to kill of some of the population. I found this pretty strange and personally don't believe it. Either way the economy was greatly affected by the virus. Stock markets dropped, people need jobs, oil prices crashed, and we have a risk of recession. The coronavirus has made a new lifestyle. Lots of stores are shut down or have resrictions. We constantly have to social distance and wash our hands. We are encouraged to quarantine and stay indoors. This has impacted us in many ways. Some people like to stay active with sports, like me, but unfortunately most sports aren't running right now. Some kids lose their energy in parks, but parks are shutdown at the moment.

This is a picture of Armstrong Park shutdown due to COVID-19.

Luckly, in Canada, the rate of cases are slowing down. This doesn't mean that we can go out and do whatever we want. The scary part of it all is that we never know for sure when this is all going to end. It could end in four months or two years. As long as everyone cooperates and sticks with the plan is will get better. If you made it this far into my blog I want to let you know that we are all in this together and to stay positive!
